Who would you rather have on your team: Derek Lee (Cubs) or Magglio Ordonez (Tigers)?
If you could have only Derek Lee or Magglio Ordonez, who would it be? Salaries are pretty close with Lee making about $500,000 more.
Ordonez is hitting around .370 this year with a career average of about .290. Lee is hitting .340 this year with a career average about .280. Lee might have a little more power and Ordonez will hit for a little better average. Since their performance on the field is close you would have to look at other issues. I didn't like to see the injury Ordonez came down with a few years back and believe he is more of a risk to go down than Lee. Therefore, Lee would be my long term choice.
