Do you think we take sports way too seriously?
My mother called herself a football widow, and it was almost literally true. My father was a football coach and we knew that he would disappear every August and come back in our lives again in November after the playoffs, except the few week in October when he had to take some time off from work because of the almost yearly mild heart attacks he would have late in the (football) season.
So in my experience, yea we take sports waaaay too seriously.
