I know the Pirates don't have much of a fan base anymore but how little smart baseball fans who know he deserves votes put votes in for him? It really shows the problems with the All Star Game when stuff like this happens, It's dominated by big market teams fans who vote for only their team, including players that are completely undeserving.
There's really no other reason other than the team he plays for. It would of been nice if Bruce Boche chose him for the team aware of this, but I guess he's simply unaware too. He'd rather choose players who are less deserving, like his entire pitching staff.
