Is it normal to have white discharge on a new cartilage piercing?
I got my cartilage pierced last saturday & last night I noticed a white crustiness around the piercing. It's not nasty yellow or green, just white. Is that supposed to happen? I've been cleaning my ears with the cleaning solution I was given when they were pierced. I'm just afraid of an infection...
Yup. A white or clear discharge is a normal part of the healing process. When it dries, it'll form crust (also normal). Make sure the solution you're using isn't too harsh. If you got pierced with a gun, they typically don't give you the best aftercare method, so if that's what happened, stop using it and switch to either sea salt soaks or a mild soap & water.
