How do I (or at least try to) contact a celebrity?
I know this sounds silly, but my best friend is absolutely in love with this one signer. His birthday is coming up and I wanted to send that artist a letter explain how much he likes her and if possible for her to send him an autograph. I know this sounds really unlikely, but I would still like to try. How do you go about this kind of thing?
Try http://www.fanmail.biz. You'll probably get the address of the person's agent or manager and can write there. The site has tips on how to write and send your letter.
Unfortunately, if the person is super popular and gets a ton of mail a day, you might never hear back. But it's still worth a try.
